Form Integrated with Function
In an integrated balance with engineering collision repair, process of finishing preserves the form and integrity of your vehicle. Finishing is the final stage of preserving the auto body design form, securing protection against corrosion and the elements, and restoring your vehicle’s visual distinction and value.
It is our belief at Eurocollision that automotive design is a fusion of form and function. When we finish a vehicle, it’s simply not just cosmetic intervention or repainting the finish. Finishing is a process of preserving automotive form to support function. We invest in rebuilding specific design models to match subtle contours and body lines to achieve proper aerodynamics and air flow that reduce drag, allowing your vehicle to have ultimate performance and handling. Matching form requires blending composition materials such as body fillers with the auto body and meticulously finishing the surface to match the original texture. Knowledge of material attributes and handling is critical to proper bonding and surfacing as is technical skill.
After a vehicle’s form is intact, the surface is cleaned with solvents and prepped to receive the basecoat and clear coat protective finishes. All components are individually painted if possible to eliminate overspray on the vehicle and allow for a more accurate factory appearance. Paint and clear coat finishes are applied using a temperature controlled, down-draft spray booth that provides steady pre-adjusted temperature conditions for a consistent finish with less infringement from environmental impacts, such as dust particles, weather elements or temperature variation. In our methodology to duplicate your factory finish High Volume Low Pressure (HVLP) spray guns are used in the application process on the vehicle body and parts to simulate the factory application of paint and exterior coating. Precise mixing measurement and continuous tint blending are managed in a mixing station to ensure even and consistent application.
With a focus on superior quality using finishes that do not fade or loose luster, and protect against corrosion and harsh environmental elements, Eurocollision partners with Akzo Nobel, a German provider of leading edge, high quality car refinishing paints and specialized coatings to use their Sikkens basecoat/ clearcoat system. World renown for supplying high-end manufacturers such as Porsche, Akzo Nobel is a pioneer in innovative coatings and very accurate color matching systems.
Factory color matching is based on computerized codes for all standard and factory variations provided direct from manufacturers. Custom or non-factory colors can be matched utilizing an in-house camera system that identifies the colors on an existing finish and produces a color formula. Akzo Nobel’s Sikkens is one of the leaders in this color matching system propelling industry standards higher by defining greater levels of matching accuracy. This state-of-the-art equipment provides a distinct advantage over other matching systems in that it analyzes twelve points of reference versus the typical six reference studies, reducing multiple coat applications that may be applied in error trying to match a finish.
Through continuous experience and factory-trained and certified industry training, we know firsthand how paint performs in blending and contour situations. Your vehicle receives a like new appearance with a finish that is put on the same way your factory finish was originally done. We guarantee your paint against peeling, blistering, wrinkling, and loss of gloss or shine.
